Tom Holder selected as Lib Dem candidate for Coventry North West
Coventry Liberal Democrats are delighted to announce Tom Holder has been selected as our candidate in Coventry North West for the general election on the 4th of July.
Tom is the head of communications for the British Retail Consortium, working hard to improve our high streets and communicate the challenges faced by retail businesses all over the UK. He believes in closer economic ties with our European neighbours and for Britain to use its influence to end the many military conflicts abroad.
Tom is also a qualified secondary school teacher, having taught Maths and Economics for three years in an inner-city comprehensive. As a former teacher and Oxford University graduate, Tom is a strong believer in the importance of education, and would like to see more funding for research at the city's universities.
Outside of work, Tom owns a three-year old Labrador called Lego, is the trustee of a local charity, and spends time playing music and rock climbing. He is committed to securing the economic future of the people of Coventry, addressing issues from broken rail services to sewage in our water supplies.
Coventry North West Prospective Parliamentary Candidate Tom Holder said:
"I am excited to stand as the Liberal Democrat candidate for Coventry North West. The Conservatives have shown themselves to be unfit to run this country, stretching our NHS to breaking point. Meanwhile Labour offer no solutions to the county’s poor finances or the rise in crime and poverty.
"I urge voters to demand better and support the Liberal Democrats’ vision of a better run, fairer society that we can all be proud to live in.”
