Tom Holder - campaigning to be the next MP for Coventry North West

Tom Holder is the Liberal Democrat Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Coventry North West. Tom is committed to ensuring closer economic ties with our European partners to stimulate growth and for Britain to use its global influence to bring an end to many conflicts across the world. As the head of communications for the British Retail Consortium, Tom works hard every single day to ensure the voices of local businesses are heard and their challenges are communicated as he strives to give our high streets a fair deal. Tom also values the impacts of education, as a former Maths and Economics teacher at an inner-city comprehensive he understands the importance of education and how it can lead to upwards social mobility. As an Oxford University graduate, Tom also understands how crucial higher level education can be to provide valuable educational opportunities and he would like to see more support and funding for our city's universities.

Outside of work, Tom owns a three-year old Labrador called Lego, is the trustee of a local charity, and spends time playing music and rock climbing. He is committed to securing the economic future of the people of Coventry, addressing issues from broken rail services to sewage in our water supplies.

Tom Holder said on being named as the candidate for Coventry North West:

"I am excited to stand as the Liberal Democrat candidate for Coventry North West. The Conservatives have shown themselves to be unfit to run this country, stretching our NHS to breaking point. Meanwhile Labour offer no solutions to the county’s poor finances or the rise in crime and poverty.

"I urge voters to demand better and support the Liberal Democrats’ vision of a better run, fairer society that we can all be proud to live in.”
